For a light, even finish I used the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick. Make sure that your coverage is uniform and not cake-y.
After achieving that flawless base, comes the eyes. Make sure to keep your eye make-up minimal because our lips are the focus here. I started by lining my upper waterline with the Nykaa Kajal and then volumanized my lashes by using the They’re Real mascara from Benefit. To add a little tone to the eyes, I shaded the lid in a darker brown from the Maybelline Nudes palette.
For lipstick, I opted for the classic Ruby Woo from M.A.C. You can create two-three lip stains before the final application. This shall ensure your lipstick lasts from day to night.
Once you have your lipstick on, you’ll be able to ascertain the amount of blush your skin needs. It’ll be just a faint, but is needed otherwise you’ll look all washed. I opted for Modern Mandarin from M.A.C.
Red has always been associated with sensuality. But let us not forget the fact that red is also bold and beautiful. Red also connotes confidence, stimulation, assertiveness and spontaneity – attributes that would make your presence felt and help you carve a niche at your workplace. No-No to red lips at work place is a passé. But only if you know how to play it right for that perfect red lips to work.
Know your skin undertone for that perfect shade of red – Whether you have a warm or cool skin undertone would be the determinant factor to pick up that right shade of red that would take you from boardroom to ballroom with grace and élan.
Matte texture with a fine finish will save your day – Matte lipsticks are not easily transferable and that saves you from the embarrassment of looking unprofessional with lipstick bleeding everywhere. Matte lipstick also saves you the trouble of frequent reapplication.
Tone down the rest of the makeup – When you play up your lips, remember to keep the rest of it minimalistic so that you look like a professional and not a party hopper!
Choose the right outfit – Dress formally in a somber manner so that you don’t look out of place in a professional circle. Red lips at work will work only if paired with neutrals like black, white, beige or navy; unless of course you work in the fashion industry.
