My hair have never been my strength or my best-friend. They’ve been an aide, staying normal, being difficult to tame at times and being extremely adjusting at other times, to getting back at staying normal. For me, my hair have spanned the various seasons of “Carrie” Sex And The City, but have never been great. Though I did feel that much of their behaviour was on account of the Indian weather, but now since we don’t experience more than two seasons, I know that the only factors responsible for my often dry and flaky scalp are – the dust and pollution of the city, the quality of water, the regular styling and use of chemically concentrated styling products. Somewhere, we’re all bearers of the same.
The Himalaya #4Fabulous Hair Anti-Dandruff kit was sent to me about four weeks back and included the – Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil, Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner and, the Anti-Dandruff Hair Cream. I received the hamper at an ideal time because the weather was starting to change and the humidity pang for the year was starting to fade. Though this also meant, that my hair would be more dry and frizzy than their natural self. I started using the products from the hamper about three weeks back and here’s how I’ve included them in my hair-care regime and this is what they’ve been doing for my hair.
The Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Hair Oil – This treatment oil is my favourite product from the kit. Enriched with the goodness of Tea Tree Oil and Rosemary, this anti-dandruff oil has been designed to fight scalp infections and flakiness. The best part for me about the product is that on application you can actually feel a certain tingling in your scalp which means that the product is working its way through. I wash my hair thrice a week and haven’t given this a miss!
The Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – My 30 minute to one hour hot towel massage is then followed by shampooing the hair. The Himalaya Anti-Dandruff shampoo is formulated with Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera and indeed works to moisturize the hair, soothe the scalp and alleviate itching. However, being an anti-dandruff product I did feel that it slightly dries my hair as it works to remove/cure dandruff. Which is why, I use it only once a week.
The Himalaya Anti-Dandruff Conditioner – For me this product is a winner because it does what it is supposed to do that is condition the hair. The conditioner comprises of Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera and Chickpea and works to nourish the hair leaving them soft and manageable. I use the conditioner in combination with the shampoo.
The Himalaya Anti Dandruff Cream – I was quite excited to try the Himalaya Anti-Dandruff cream because, honestly, the smell of it took me back to the days when my sister and I used to swirl our father’s Brylcream onto our hair. Enriched with Tea Tree Oil and Tulsi, this cream can be used either before the hair wash or after the wash when your hair are still damp. The first time I used it was on damp hair. However, I felt that the product never really penetrated the scalp and sat heavy on the hair itself which left my hair sticky and oily. Thus, they were also difficult to style. The second time I used it as a pre-wash cream and was quite happy with the shine and bounce it gave to the hair. Hence, my pick would be to use it as a pre-wash, massage cream.
